Jean Royle created this original card design in the 1970's. 'Hedge' is a winter landscape Christmas card design. Jean Royle developed this design from original pencil preliminary sketches and further experimented with the idea by using white ink on black paper thus creating the impression of a snowy landscape. A preliminary sketch in pencil is taken from her sketchbook and shown below.
